Apple Releases iPhone 3G Fix

Responding to a slew of news reports and customer complaints about dropped calls and spotty 3G wireless network coverage, Apple released an iPhone software update that it says improves communication between the iPhone 3G and wireless networks.

However, the company refused to provide specifics about what the software update fixes, instead a spokeswoman only would say that "it improves communication with 3G networks." There has been no definitive information about what is causing the iPhone 3G problems. Last week, a highly regarded Swedish technical publication said that it was a problem in the iPhone antenna and the amplifier. [FierceWireless]
