PhoenixSoft, Inc., a pioneering provider of next-generation communications platforms for converged networks, announced today that PowerNet Global Communications, Inc. (“PowerNet Global”) has migrated its existing network technologies to PhoenixSoft’s new Cirrus Softswitch solution. PowerNet Global provides business and residential users low cost telecommunication solutions, including domestic and international long distance, 800 number, calling card, cell phone, Internet access, and T-1 connection services.

The Cirrus Softswitch adds numerous capabilities that positively affect PowerNet Global’s business. By replacing several network components, the integrated softswitch technology reduces costs and creates simpler, more efficient architectures. Significant rating, routing, reporting and call flow scripting engines streamline business and network operations. In addition, enhanced features and new IP applications establish new revenue opportunities.

“Since 1992, PowerNet Global’s goal has been to blend our experience with leading-edge technology,” said Rick Kohel, director, network engineering and operations for PowerNet Global. “We invest continually in the latest telecommunications solutions that will have a major impact on our business and bring real value to our customers. By partnering with industry leaders such as PhoenixSoft, we've avoided huge capital expenditures to maintain outdated equipment. And, we’ve been able to match or beat the "Big 3" communications companies in quality of service, cost of service and customer support.”

“As technologies evolve, our strategy has always been to provide a meaningful migration path for our customers,” said Paul Amick, PhoenixSoft co-founder. “The Cirrus Softswitch fits nicely within a variety of network configurations and replaces legacy programmable switches and other network components. As a long-term customer, PowerNet Global has deployed several PhoenixSoft solutions throughout years of industry change. This latest move to our Cirrus Softwitch continues to keep PowerNet Global at the industry forefront and extends a partnership we greatly value.” /PR
